TIP No. 12

Approaching a visitor to your stand

The “Can I help you?” approach will more than likely invite a “No

thank you;  I’m just looking “response.

Encourage staff to ask a question i.e. “are you using or have you ever

used any of our products/services” or “what are you particularly

interested in”.

This will start a conversation and you should then be able to judge if

the visitor is a genuine prospect of just a casual browser.

TIP No. 11

Don’t overload your stand with people.  Too many staff creates a

barrier which visitors will be afraid to break.

Visitors do not like to wait for assistance nor do they like to be

pounced on by two of three people.

Judge the number of staff bearing in mind the size of your stand

and expected number of visitors to the show.
